VOCATION AWARENESS WEEK IN THE UNIVERSITY OF THE EAST

vocation

The Mandaluyong Community participated in the Vocation Awareness Week of the University of the East (UE) from Jan. 14-18, 2013. Novices Rochelle and Vy went to the University accompanied by Gene of the KNL Community, for a room-to-room vocation campaign to the college students. Groups representing different Congregations were given time to introduce their respective Congregations and to distribute their leaflets and brochures.

On the 5th day, Jan.18, novices Che & Bich went to UE to continue the room to room vocation campaign in the morning and to participate in the Symposium in the afternoon. After the room-to-room talks, a Eucharistic Celebration followed, presided by a Diocesan priest, Fr. Francis Salvedo, and concelebrated by Fr. Andres Maya, a Scalabrinian priest. Sisters from different Congregations participated in the Eucharist; two of whom shared their vocation stories during the homily, related to the Gospel of the day.

The symposium, also held at the UE Chapel, started at 2:30 PM.  It was attended by a good number of students. The three vocations were presented by the speakers representing Religious Life, including the brotherhood and sisterhood, the priesthood, the married life, and single blessedness. In the open forum,  the students asked questions and these were answered by the speakers.

Before the symposium ended, the CCPians/Campus Ministry Staff gave certificates to all the Congregations that participated in the event,  as an acknowledgement of their presence.
